I always like reading garden projects so i thought i would pip mine up..

Originally it looked like this

And this is a quick drawing of the plan..

So time to start digging

Got half way and just thought bollox.. Too much digging so i got my pencil back out and came up with this

Time for foundations

Foundations done, time to start walling.

Time for the copings to go on and a fence seperating next door.

Time to get the scratch coat on..

And thats currently where it sits..

Tomorrow will be top coat and then i need to turf it, paint it then flag it.

Looks good - is there a gap between the garage and raised bit? I'd be worried about damp!

Looking good Chris.

I actually prefer tiered gardens tbh, it gives an added dimension and allows for different sections, rather than flat gardens like mine.

Is it weird that I think your garage roof could be used as garden?

Yup, there is a 3" gap. You can just make it out on the pic out of the window.

Looks good!

That was a lot of soil to remove, annoying how deceiving it is.

yup, thats exactly why i changed my mind..

we filled a skip (£210) and we estimated at least another 1.5 skips to shift the rest and it was getting tough, dry, rock hard, full of clay and rocks.. it wasnt going to happen lol

I feel your pain at the soil removal. Amazing how it increases in size by about 10 million when it's removed from the ground.

I'll never be digging anything up again. Must have filled at least 200 bags doing my driveway. Took every single one down the skip.

Poor car.

I dug out 120 tonnes by hand and wheel barrowed it into skips before Christmas - had footings poured on Christmas Eve

Nice work, I like gardens with sharp designs. What sort (if any) lighting are you going for?

We had thought about putting wall lights in like on my drawing, but at £50 a pop we decided against it..

So as it stands thats a bridge which we will cross when we come to it.

Did you get a good idea the flags aren't going to fit as your plan?

Seriously, respect mate. I love it when somebody actually takes the time to make sure the flags are properly laid out

Should have gone for wall lights

Garden lighting adds so much to a garden during summer evenings

Still looks great though
