Basically my corsa is on its way out but the shell is fairly clean, it's a 53 plate, and being the type of person I am and the mileage I won't get much for it so I thought an engine converaion would be best. What would fit in? I was thinking a Zafira 2.0l? Or something like that or from a vectra or Astra? Which one would be easier?

What would a z20 come out of? I would rather not have a turbo to be fair, would rather run r1 bike carbs if I can, would one of the donor cars I mentioned not be do able?

Zafira or Astra..

You said 'easiest conversion' running carbs will require custom management and your Corsa C relies heavily on its BCM for the dash etc. to function..

You're giving your self a right headache.

Z20lets are in the likes of astra gsi's and zafira gsis. A similar engine is the z20leh, found in the astrA vxr

I take it there's no messing with wiring then? Just drop the engine and engine loom in connect it up and change the Ecu?

What about a 2.0l vectra engine? Let's move from easiest to cheapest as all of the GSi models will be expensive to either buy a engine or a donor car, not a corsa Sri engine though

cheapest would surely be a saab b204 (2L Turbo) conversion as you can buy these in the cars for less than 500 quid and they're pretty simple to install into a B apparently

You need to transfer over the 1.0 starting and charging loom to the 2.0 and then 2 extra wires need adding to the ECU connector for the MAP sensor...

The final complication is you need to find someone to flash the Z20LET ECU map onto the original ECU.. (its actually a really easy job with a KWP2000 device).

Or an mpps flasher tool and the free download programme. Costs about a tenner all in.

or you could fit the z22se, from Vectra, astra, zafira, vx220.
can be supercharged for an extra £1500, and see around 250/260bhp on a stock engine.

Easiest is z20let,

I had a z20let corsa that my cousin built for me with the occasional help from me, (standing around chatting)

Let me tell you this you will love it, mine had 300bhp went like shit off a stick and was a lot of fun, (car is quite well known as I stripped it sold it to specky and it became the corsaru)

So a z22e would fit nicely? Not bothered about a supercharger?
