Got some bits today, off my pal,

Some more bright white canbus free bulbs for my reg plate lights, and this 3" boost pipe from the air filter to turbo runs under the slam panel! Didn't fit my mates coz he's got a big ally rad so I grabbed it off him!

yeah got one in the end, didn't pay anywhere near the rediculous asking price the guy who did the group buy wanted! Also had to order some new silicone joiners from ash as the slithers he provided is pathetic!! Jubilee clips just slip off and the afm only fits in about 1mm dunno why he's cut them down so much, anyway untill new joiners come this is how it looks.

As you can see jubilee clips nearly ontop of each other!

By braces do you mean to support it? It has like a strong gauze that gives it its shape which the foam is stuck too which is fairly rigid in keep its shape, I made the extra bracket because with no airbox the filter sits a lot higher than the inner wing so had nothing to rest on, and the weight of the afm aswell caused it to flop down a bit, the strength of the filter isn't an issue.

Now Iv fitted the solid pipe not plastic it doesn't need any extra support as the pipe is obviously loads more solid than the plastic one.

You notice temp increases from the higher boost etc too, an Intercooler is a wise purchase!

I was also looking at an alternative to the uprated Radiator, by use of an Autospecialists Turbo Cooler (for older Ford RS models) - a small radiator to put on the water cooling outlet of the turbo before returning to Header - a guy on the Vectra VXR FB group has bought one on my suggestion, so should be fitting it soon. It should make a good difference, the theory is sound!

That sounds not a bad idea, they do get rather warm don't they especially in the warmer weather, I'm thinking of buying an airtec intercooler and doing the pipe work myself.

I got my boost pipe off Matt coz it didn't fit his properly because he's got s courteney alloy rad lol

Yes, they do.
I thought my map was making me run warmer, so chucked the standard one back on to ease my mind at it's the same. Obviously forget every winter that they run hot and therefore a bit hotter when it is warmer outside!

Matt did post a picture of your two cars together, I asked him to pass on a message....

Know how you feel mate bonnet cables are bastards!

Always seems like you fix one thing and another problem pops up.

I know why it's done that. It's not happy that it has shitty black wheels anymore, it's given you ample time to sort it out, now it's going to make your life a misery!

Just a theory

Couldn't belive how a ten min pipe fitting job turned into a struggle because the guy had tried to scrimp on the group buy he organised and cut down the joiner pipes to save money leaving not enough clamping area to get s jubilee clip on! Idiot.

Tell me about it ben!! Hate bonnet cables at the best of times I was struggling to find anyway of getting to it! Grill can't be removed from the front neither can the bumper there's a big plastic guard around the catch at the top of the grill so cant get on it there either, I had to undo the bumper at each corner and underneath then flex it forward as much as I can. Only to find the air con condenser, radiator and intercooler were all bang on below the slam panel with a gap of about half an inch between then to get up between them only to find another plastic guard at the top blocking any access.

Ended up taking the bottom brackets off the subframe and dropping all 3 rads down and pushing them back where I was able to just get a 4ft bar up onto the clip and twat it with a hammer to ping it open! Thankfully without doing any damage!

Piss off gav gahaha if the theory is correct im going to paint them gloss black with s brush as revenge for the way it's treating me lately haha

My dad once fixed his neighbours broken bonnet cable issue by smashing the vw grille to bits

Luckily it cracked quite neatly so he superglued it back together and the neighbour was so happy they bought him a bottle of wine

Black wheels are awesome Gav. Easy clean
