Used dulux paint on a wall going up my stairs and up close, you can see it has some ''crackle glaze'' effect to it.

Spoke to my dad very briefly about it and he said it's where the paint has reacted with something already on the wall.

How would I sort this out? It looks shit and needs repainting ASAP as new carpet is going down in a few weeks.

I used dulux, albeit another colour, on 2 other walls with no issue's.

Usually due to not washing the walls down properly (at all?) before painting.

Scrape it back with a blade, properly clean down and repaint.

I haven't done it before I painted, but you should use sugar soap. Just degreases the walls. You don't soak the walls so it's running down more of a wipe over

I'm a bit OCD, sand the walls removing any little dried lumps off paint from the last paint job and wipe down using a damp cloth. I've never had any problems this way.

Key is not to rush the job.

Our new place is all painted white. Noticed in a few places where the paint is starting to peal. Not quite sure what is reason behind this is!
