So looks like I will be moving house and need my own contents insurance. Need the camera covered under valuables but struggling to put a price on it.

I have a Canon EOS 450D with kit 18-55mm lens and Tamron 70-300mm lens.

I know the 450D was superseded by the 500D but that was some time ago.

What would the equivalent 450D be now so I can put a price on it?

P.S. have tried Google but didn't help.

Looking at the table at the bottom of the page on Wikipedia found here you're probably looking at perhaps a 650D or 700D that's if I'm reading this right.

Keeps going to the app so not showing properly for me. Says the 650D was 1987 or there abouts.

Mine was new 5 years ago for my 21st

The EOS 650 did come out in 1987 but is a film camera!

The 650D is a completely different thing, scroll to the very bottom for a timeline

You would receive the latest XXXD canon camera or the equivalent price for that. So, why not just place the book value down that you would have bought it for as new?

I don't know the price as it was a gift hence the reason for asking. Couldn't put a number to it so needed something to compare it to. Will take a look online.

Is there a need to declare the camera? Normally individual items above £1000 that need declared in any home insurance I've had.

Out of the home possessions need to totted up and value provided, not necessarily declared.
