Got a heavily tenderised buttock after a sprawl off the Nomad. Went far to hot into a gravel bend and the front washed out.

That looks a nice bike. I've got my eye on a Felt roadie for when our cycle scheme comes round again in December.

I'm on mtb pedals, purely so I can at least think about walking in the shoes. Absolutely no chance in road pedals without waddling like a weirdo.

I use pedals that are normal oneside and spd's the other. That way if you can't be arsed being clipped in you don't have to. Plus using mtb spd's means you can walk easier then using roadie pedals as mtb ones are more recessed into the sole of the shoe. Roadie ones tend not to be...

new handle bars on my Trek, didn't use the drops. Much prefer having the brakes and gears within fingers reach

SPD-SL's do give a better feel, but always running the risk of fucking things up. I dred stopping at lights and junctions as I have to try and clip back in

Test rode this the other night

Quite like 750b feels nice and flicky after 29er wheels. Bit over kill for essex but goes up hill well enough and fucking flys down
Have to air on the side of caution on the olympic track rock garden on the carbon hardtail but this drop the dropper post lean back at warp speed and let the bike do its magic and iron out the boulders

I have also ridden that exact bike on a demo but its way way over priced for what it is. also tried the 29er version aswell didn't like it . Was that on a demo evening with rocky mountain or is your mates shop stocking them

Nice whip, Willay.

What Trek is it? I am rocking the 2013 1.5 atm

I'm liking those handle bars. I am too shit to attempt to use the drops so wouldn't mind something like that.

I'm still the opposite - I find it much easier to control the bike on the drops - how anyone descends at pace on the hoods is beyond me. I need the braking leverage you get on the drops when I'm shifting. I guess it's just preference but I just don't get what is scary about riding on drops? I also prefer climbing out the saddle in the drops too - pretty much the only thing I have in common with Marco Pantani other than a bald head.

Having said that my bike has a pretty relaxed geometry - if you struggle on the drops try flipping your stem to raise it up a bit or add spacers- a few mm higher makes a serious difference

Those bars actually look pretty decent though - if it makes it feel more comfortable for you then it's a good buy

Also on peddles - I use the one sided spd touring pedals and cleats .... Good for non racing IMO. Firstly they have a lot of gait, sideways movement and adjustment so for those that suffer with bad knees they are superb. Your knee doesn't suffer from being locked into one angle. Particularly for long rides and touring they are very comfy. The non cleated side is pretty rubbish- but it will get you home easy enough if for some reason your cleat breaks. I have seen the spring loaded ones break many occasions - bit a good thing if you ride solo of unsupported.
