Had a first tonight. Climbing up a ridge line called grisedale pike, had to turn back as it was too windy. Few of the night ride lot carried on but I could barely stand up in the gusts. Shame as it's something I've wanted to do for ages. Mission aborted so will have to go up there again when it's not mentally windy.

Looking at your strava is that just off whinlatter then? As in you get there via one of the loops?

Top of the south, there is a really rough and muddy path leads through the trees immediately to the right as you get to the sort of rock at the top. Follow that then cross a fence and that's you on that ridge line that's the back of whinlatter.

Good going that. I'm at 37000ft in 270 miles.

I cracked out the mtb and the road bike yesterday, had a good morning out around llandegla and then a enjoyable early evening on the road.

Might just be me, I've not been in the bike scene for a long time.

Try this to get a rough idea. I tend to run much lower than pressures than my mates, alot of it is what feels best for you..

Thanks, need to find what pressures are in the tyres at the moment and have a muck about with them.

After today's trip round whinlatter south, I'm 40th fastest over all out of pretty much 2000 people. Well happy with that as I wasn't trying to go fast I was just ridng along. Kept getting held up as well by southerners walking up the hills.

Depends what bike you're riding tbh. Nothing wrong with the uplift. No point trying to get fit there. Get fit before hand so you can enjoy it.
