yeah, wey saves cutting up a decent set of rear dampers. cut tops and bottoms off and weld to some bar. you could even make some rose jointed ones, seen that done. no rear end squat at all
some found it too bouncy at the front though

Was going to make some solid rears for next outing but want to keep it road legal so i can still get the same times on road. No point setting fast time then gettin beat in road forum.

On that note had a we race with a civic. Mb6 1.8vtis. The one that looks like a rover 45. Was a fairly easy win for the corsa

Youll never manage the same times on road surface beacuse they are terible compared to the drag strip surfsces but even so i agree road legal is the way forward.

One over here in northern ireland isn a proper strip. Its an old airfield. I get more grip on the road. Id be getting faster times on the road.
Theres talk of a proper strip opening here in the near future but havent heard much about it. Be interesting to see what time id get in a proper strip

So went back to 1/4mile today. Some how managed to pull a 14.2.
Another run was 15.2 and then it rained. Either the time isnt right or… my fuel pump doesnt run, relay doest click in (tried a few new ones) and its running lean. I bridged it out and im 99.9% sure it was running for the first run n then the wire fell out def wasnt running for second run and it rained ao didnt get a chance to try again. Could it make that much of a difference?

Another thing corsa loved the rain. Launched in 2nd just spun nearly sitting on the spot 16.5 lol

Wired up pump this morning to see if it makes any difference and it does espically top end revs. Pulls to rev limiter alot better. Im hoping that gi e is correct. Next run out wont be untill august over here tho. Plenty to do to the car before then.

You should look on the Honda forums,
People batting around standard long block,

Then it comes out with standard long block... With forged pistons, steel rods etc etc

no mapped ecu on the 13.7

standard engine, fse reg, r888's, a bit of weight shifted out and a good driver on a good day, its doable

If my time was right at 14.2 then 13.7 is possible. Jed had brave bit cut out of his and on a proper treated drag strip. Here in northern ireland we have a concrete ex runway and ive shit tyres and shit suspension.
Ill have to wait until next run out to see if my time was right tho.

the forest blue XE wasn't mine mate, was david dixons and his brothers.. they only got it as a back up car/daft laugh while work was getting done on their nova... daves an awesome driver with years of experience in it and a great reaction time

as for the weight cut out, it had the inner quarters cut out, bit of the metal tailgate cut out, only 1 seat, no carpet or sound proofing but the full dash/heater matrix was still in, all glass still in and it even had a cowboys roll cage in the even before where it managed a 13.9
was at yorks strip which doesn't seem to have the best reputation but it was a great day, prep was good and wind was on our side

get yourself a set of R888's and let them right down
keep pushing it and you'll have it
