They are great tyres with a nice progressive slide. Shame though as even though the Exalto's were on the limit they were still better than new Conti's fucking amazing they were.

Couldn't agree more. Pilot exalto 2's they came from factory with, crazy tyre. Just would not let go.

Well only done 50 miles or so on them and they are instantly better than my old tyres. Will definitely put a little more confidence in me on Wednesday

^ So impressed with that car on track. Not sure how much of it was Simons' driving or the car, but I thought we were heading for a tyre wall on pretty much every corner and the car just turned in and got on with it.

Fastest lap for the Clio according to my app was 2.09.66 with the three best sectors adding up to 2.06.69 for the optimal time.

Thanks guys, yeah I really enjoyed it. Certainly learnt the car is very capable against most cars, it was mainly my lack of experience that let the car down on the day but we all got to start somewhere.

Definitely going to get another track day booked for next year, probably looking at doing Croft as it's a local track to where my family live so no 5.30am wake up call.

The Xsara was a VTS, pretty nippy but as most other cars they had less worry for binning their car into the barrier as most came on the back of a flat bed truck or a trailer

Decided to put the colourful ClioSport sticker on the rear window yesterday. In the process of doing some googling I also found out that the 182 has heated wing mirrors too

Untitled by Simon_89, on Flickr

Gone back to the standard headunit too, got fed up of the Alpine unit throwing an error up when I connected my iPhone 5 up to it. Can't complain as it is pretty old. Bought an aux cable but need to route it a different way rather than through the glove box,

Bought some gloss black dash strips to replace the standard satin silver ones. Gave them a good polish and fitted them, just seems to make the inside a bit classier

Needs matching steering wheel trim and gearknob thing.

Also, lol at you not knowing the mirrors are heated! All Clios with electric mirrors are heated.

Looking good though!

Ordered a set of Cooksport lowering springs, meant to be one of the best set of springs you can buy for the cup dampers. Going to replace both front top mounts whilst the struts are out as I'm getting a funny noise lately from the drivers side

They are a good upgrade, too high for me though!

Get genuine top mount nut/spacer things and top hats, they were revised a few years ago and the new design is much better/ solves knocking.

Well I'm half tempted to see how mine are as I've decided to be part of the group buy on some solid top mounts on ClioSport.

How much are genuine ones over ECP equivalents?

Pure Motorsport top mounts & brace? I have the top mounts on my Clio, bought them on the back of the good reviews etc on Cliosport, However I find them quite noisy for normal road use, I won't be putting solid mounts on a road car again.

Not sure how much the genuine items are tbh, I was breaking Lemforder bearings every few months and my car isn't that hard.

Just checked and it's the compbrake top mounts, if 10 people are interested they are £86 which is a pretty good price

Yeah saw it was the compbrake, I was put off them by the fact they will raise the car a little vs standard/PMS.

Shame you're not local, I'd take you out in my car, the noise they cause is weird.
