Alright folks, i'v not been here a while, has my car is finally finished and i'v been enjoying it, i'll get some pics of it up on here soon, anyway my car is a 93 corsa 1.4L spi 8v with no rev counter, so i was thinking of getting a Astra GTE dital dash fitted, whats involed in fitting one and how much does it cost? has i'm planning a 2.0L 16v engine transplant and i'll be needing a rev counter, so if anyone knows of the costs and things involed in fitting it like the wiring etc.

cheers hope u can help...

i fitted one in mine mate, the wirings a peice of p**s theres diagrams floatin around somewhere (ill try and find the one i used for ya) the hardest bit is makin it the rite shape to fit in the corsa, i cut all the front off it and made it flat then cut a piece of plastic to stick on the front of it in the shape of the corsa dials, theres a few ppl on here that have done it. oh yeh and the dash shud cost you 40quid ish with both plugs and transducer.

If the Corsa has an electronic speedo to start with then the transducer isn't necessary.

Tony, does your fuel guage read acurately?

Adel, check your email.

Vaux, mine aren't in at the moment, but I've had conflicting reports about the fuel guage being out. Also does your voltage meter for he battery work ok. I've been told it won't work but it should.

yep battery meter works fine on mine and its accurate cus ive had a volt meter accross the terminals on the battery to check it. the only thing i know of that wont work is the oil one, unless u get a new sender from the GTE or similar car

yeah you will need the oil pressure sender to get the pressure gauge to work, it will work but just sghows maximun or none, the fuel gauge reads roughly 1/4 tank more than you actually have, this is esy to sort by changing the resistor on the PCB for a different value, I have the correct value written down at work and will post it up here for you 2moro.

surprised that the fuel guage is ok, perhaps yours has a different tank, but every corsa I know with a digidash, the guage reads about 1/4 tank high, I know this as I made a note of the reading before and also made a note of how much fuel I put in when the tank was nearly empty, I also ran out of fuel when the dash said I had just under 1/4 tank left, it was a very long day and forgot about the dash reading out by a bit. never mind.

Blazer I have the dash but as said before only yhing missing is the plug to go onto the sender unit, let me know what you want to do, and the card thing, well I am registered with {Paypal so can take payments by visa etc.

right so theres fuel guage problems with the astra gte dash then? is it easy to fit a another dash from a corsa with a rev counter on, to change the 1.4L 8v spi dash with no rev counter?

no there isnt a problem with it, just need to remember that it lies a bit, or change the resistor for a slighly higher one, think its about 68K, this will sort it perfect, was looking for the details here at work but think they are in my garage, will have a look and confirm the value, the resistor costs about 10p maximum, and its easy to replace while the dash is apart, which you would have to do to fit it properly anyway.

look at this pic and tell me you would rather have a normal dash, do it you know you want to.
