Hiya!
I know the Astra gte dashboard conversion has been done before. SO I was just wondering if anyone knew if it is possible to convert a digi dash from a different car-not necessarily a vauxhall, into a corsa? And if it is possible- does it involve roughly the same amount of work etc as the astra gte dash conversion?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

Vectra didn't, Astra Mk2 GTE did.
I would have thought that getting another dash to work would be pretty similar to fitting one from another Vaux. Don't know many cars that have digi's tho..
Most of the wiring is just +/- for warning lights etc. so they will be the same, the only problems could be speedo and rev counter, depends on how the other dash reads it. Astra digi gets speed from gearbox sender so you would need to find a dash that could link to the astra sender and work, or find one that uses a sender which is the same thread etc. where the sender screws into the gearbox.

Vectras are available with a digital dash as standard.
Depending on your current engine and type of speedo, you don't neccessarily need the gearbox transducer etc from the doner dash.
This is a GTE digital dash built into an Astra housing, it will plug straight into the Corsa dash with no modification..

Heres a tidier version...

In theory, it should be possible to put the dash from almost any car into the Corsa, although depending what it is, it could be a lot of work.

Its built into a slighty modified Astra dash to make it a Corsa friendly shape.

Rob, that front panel looks nice. The back of your dash looks well different to mine tho.
Any chance you could get us a side shot so I can see what sort of angle you've got on it.
I'm thinking about getting a scrap corsa clockset and taking off the front panel (clear persex and black plastic bit) then just cutting the back of the black plastic part out so i'm just left with the angled side parts, and the perspex.
Bit hard to explain

Cheers

Broster, I'll give you the full story when we meet up and I have those dashes if thats still ok?

Neil, The back of the dash looks different to yours because its not the back of the original GTE dash.
I've got an empty clock housing here if you want it. I've already begun to cut it down. You can have it for free if its any use to you, might be handy to practice on.
I've also got a face plate that I had fabricated to fit over the original GTE fascia to make it big enough for the Corsa dash without any gaps. It just needs bonding on and trimming to size to fit whatever car its going in.

Nice one Rob, by clock housing do you mean this bit -->>

Or the back part?
How much do you want for posting the housing & front plate ?

Jill, what engine did you have previously?

Neil, yes its that part. The back part has been cut away already, it is now the perspex front and the black side parts. You can have this for nothing if it might be of any use to you.
The fascia I had made cost me £35 so I would like a tenner for that if I sold it. I ground the front of the digi dash flat and had the plate made up to bond on to the front of it, see pics..

Hey I already told u that-when sorting out about the air conditioner button! So-for certain engine sizes that have undergone the 2.0 conversion it won't matter for the speedo cable/dash, but others it will?
OMG- I think I'll just give u a bell soon anyway about arranging to drop that rear bumper off to u and pick ur brains about everything then fella!
