I've never been to Monaco (nor know anybody who has) but I did read once on an F1 forum something that stuck with me for some reason.

It basically said that Monaco was marvelous place to visit - but NOT during a GP weekend. They recommended visiting Monaco at any other time during the year to walk the circuit in relative peace and see the various sights in your own time... then go see a GP somewhere more suited for catering for visitors.

I'd still like to go though

I went when I was about 13/14. It was brilliant to walk the circuit, go through the tunnel, past swimming pool etc. I do remember it being horrendously expensive though, I can only guess that it's worse come GP time. I always think you'd need loads of money to do Monaco properly too compared to other GP's, no supping your own beers on the campsite etc.

Monaco - Go for the classic/historic racing.

We went a few years back, just before the F1 so everything is gearing up for it, but its still not jam-packed. Great place

Hooning round in a Bently GT wasnt bad either (had to just honk in through the tunnel of course!), but still showed my scottishness by scoffing at the £14 beers in Cafe du Paris Made a weekend of it, visiting Cannes on the way back too.

Spotted new side boards and what looked like RBR-esque exhaust arse end. Although i suspect the E21 was in 'launch spec' and missing a lot of the fancier parts.

Roll on McLaren launch this Thursday though.

McLaren have increased the height of their tub which seems a little odd considering they've been running short tubs for a while. They've also gone for a pull-rod setup at the front and for a larger wishbone arrangement, aka RBR style, at the rear which essentially covers the rear drive shaft and smooths out the airflow around it.

As always it's launch spec, so we won't see the big changes until testing/Australia.

Fred - McLaren have the launch on their Youtube channel; worth watching for the car parade.

Edit - Should really read what i write; pull-rod is what their moving to not push-rod.

Just been looking at pics of the new Ferrari.

Looks quite sexy tbh.

This is the dullest year I can remember for launches though, other than pushrod suspension at the front - nobody is changing anything
