haha thanks, I've had thoughts about shoehorning something lairy under the bonnet but i'm not sure how much life the old girl has left in her. with corrosion and all that. if i was gonna spend that much effort i'd start with a adifferent base car, then swap it all over. if i wanted the true vinceyboy style to it. haha

To be honest mate i'm not that fussed. my car is more than fast enough for what I need from it. good drivers only accelerate once. haveing an underpowered car makes you a good driver. i'd only crash again lol

a point i agree with
as my signature says

its about how much power you can use not how much you have

also bike engines have fuck all torque, pulling away at 6k revs isnt exactly ideal on a daily drive

congratulations,
components have a pre determined safety factor and fatigue limit (10^6 cycles roughly)

considering my corsa did 100k before its first wheel bearing needed doing your statement isnt surprising but its not likely a bearing would do 100k with those spacers on....

with my current set up i had to change a "cheap rear bearing" after 20k, my set up is alot closer to the standard system than silly sized spacers, so your friend was lucky not to come across any issues

lots of cars that are "silly low and have stupid wheels" tend to drive slow everywhere anyway reducing where, these cars doing track sessions wouldnt last long, not exactly what they where build for but a set up like mine would take more of a battering on track for a longer time

doesnt mean the engine produces more torque....

bike engines are designed to put up with 250kgs ish even a mini is more than double that weight they even struggle in caterham style cars let again a corsa
