Are you sure you're not getting a boost leak, making the squaling noise? Might be why the boost drops off. When I mocked up my intercooler kit, I reckon the short 90 metal pipes are too short, so you can't get a decent seal on them. I'm looking at getting some decent silicone pipes to replace a shit thin stuff TX give you, on my set up.

No boost leak as we logged the boost and its doing the same , sorted out the squeal now anyway we noticed on the dyno it was coming from begin headlight I took all boost pipes of and re routed them and its fixed that now, mapper said he's had quite a few vx220s and they have all done the same ad this will prob get a uprated actuator to try hold the boost a bit more

Cool, I'll keep most of my pipe work then, should save a few quid.

I've already got a Forge actuator, and a few other nice little mods waiting for mine.

I rang them direct, I also bought a loom extension for the AFM which was just a plug in loom. About £150 +p&p with a extra spring if I up the boost.

This but would probably need to lower it a touch more to compensate the extra gap in the arches.
