See this banded about a lot, eg brake pads, suitable for "fast road", tyres good for "fast road", suspension good for fast road use.

WTF is fast road, seems like a more acceptable term for driving like a twat.

Not that i dont drive fast at times on the road, but i hardly think it warrants its own sub category in terms of the purpose for parts.

Its just a term used ages ago as a level of tune (cams etc)

Meaning it keeps the vehicle fine for road use as (take cams of eg again) the next cam up would be too lumpy and less drivable on the road.

presumably people who drive the car fast on the road (obviously when conditions allow etc) , for example sunday mornings or at night, perfect times to drive a pure drivers car, a car like the new toyota GT86

Sounds like it's for people that don't need as hardcore stuff as is used for track but still want better than standard? Easy.

Tuning parts need to be dumbed down for the majority of people though, hence the need for Stage 1,2, 3 etc. Which actually means fuck all unless you put the supplier in front, which people dont and think its an adequate explanation as to what part they are referring to

If i buy a set of brake pads, that are suitable for fast road, what does that mean? that i can use them to drive fast on the road? i can do that with any brake pads.

If they are offer better performance wouldnt a term like performance pads be better

theres nothing wrong with the term imo, you can take your car to be setup up at the garage as fast road,

this to me suggests you plan on driving it in a fast manner, therefore geometry, stiffer suspension, lower?, better brake pads/discs etc, an overall better setup for driving faster on the road over someone who would drive slow and not have requirement for it.

Standard brake pads - shit cheap shit that fades after 3 hard presses of the pedal (like Bens pagids)
Fast Road pads - hold up to the heat alot better and don't really fade but on track not up to the constant abuse
Performance pads - generally stamped with not road legal, some would argue crap cold performance makes them rubbish on the road, noisy, overkill for the road
