ok so small update on how things are going, didnt make it to total vauxhall as i was de-greasing engine that had arrived on pallet and saw x14xe stamped on it so that has stopped progress not sure if anyone saw it on ebay it was described as x16xe with 50k genuine miles with a pink ecotec cover. lesson learnt there i did get my money back but hassle as id waited 2 weeks on it coming. so i was on look out for a x16xe or c16xe engine then a standard one with 61k miles came on here few days ago in manchester so arranged a price as i only needed engine and made the drive down 7 hours of driving round trip in my van loaded with energy drink and came home with this..

thanks one-mr-t thats where i am now going to clean it up and paint block and maybe gearbox.

small update decided to paint the block and got some rear avo coilovers as it was sitting abit higher after id stripped it out and didnt fancy 100mm springs falling out with the roads here got out and split the gearbox while its off i may aswel get a new clutch so going to get one in next few days

got gearbox oil everywhere as it was quite heavy on my own i had couped over to undo all the bolts, i tried to source a engine stand for cleaning up the engine but didnt get one so just wedged it up and decided on black for colour as the rocker is green

also cleaned up the coilovers ready for fitting...

ive decided im not going to fit rocker cover off the c16 engine as i got it sand blasted and powdercoated and thats what could have wrecked the engine might not have but wont chance it so was going to get bodyshop to paint the one on new engine lime green again or what does anyone else think on colour?

sunny day and t-shirt weather on joabs me and jamie decided to fit rear strur brace and coilovers and got a compreesor on the joab for ease....

and fitted...

diffrence..

and some pictures of the coilovers fitted and the rear strut brace...

looking much better and some better pictures of how the inside looks now took the rubber gromits and cleaned them up rather than paint over them aswel, while i was adjusting coilovers i looked up and the bonnet was open jamie saying just having a look at what we need to do in couple weeks time for fitting the engine next time i look up theres bits of engine going out and loom everywhere so decided a standard peperami and cheese toasty was in order before we went further then we went out and carried on getting it ready for getting a crane..

so thats it just ready to come out now once we get a crane

went into tms and came out with a lighter wallet after getting some parts for the new engine, already had an oil filter and fitted it so got timing belt kit and water pump and an aux belt and a clutch while its apart. i also managed to source all 4 gm jacking covers got them at diffrent times but are all silver so going to paint them red or might wait and get them done by body shop.
