Wouldn't go that far mate but thanks there are much tidier cars out there but I've tried to tick all the boxes that matter to me, power, handling and braking

Cheers for the comments guys I'm gonna try and copy and paste the whole thread over tonight or tomorrow

As promised i will copy this over up until present time so here goes:
Right folks finnaly got my arse in gear and am gonna get my progress thread up and running, after a lot of moaning from Rich J Williams msl:

This will be a back dated thread to start with as I built the car up from about November 08 onwards while my unit was in Afghan so i had free use of the workshop for about 8 months or so, the car was at PV on the vauxsport stand if people are trying to place it! theres gonna be a lot of pictures so enjoy, and feel free to comment constructively not just say "it's shit" tell me why "it's shit" msl:

this is the car how i bought it quite a tidy looking gsi don't normally buy them pre modded but it had bits i wanted already on it like the morettes and allesios so made sense at £1350 to be honest.

No major mods to start with just getting rid of some bodge mods, the wiring was shocking, it had no air filter the front seat rocked due to broken mounts and a few other things

Started to add my own touches in the light department

had to swap the suspension over as i was starting to loose fillings from my teeth msl:
so started to strip my old track car down for bits

it was a shame to break it but wanted a fast road bigger powered version now so the gsi was the new king vauxhall in my fleet of 8 at the time

Started buying bits for the engine and trial fitted them before taking the old engine out, i'd used the blue car as my daily driver for a bit but found the buckets and no interior a pain in the tits in the end and wanted the power but the luxery as well this time round, i'd also blew the input shaft oil seal on it and lost 5th gear so the box was fucked (F20)

Then it was a case of cleaning all the dirty bits up and refurbishing them, really wish i never started all this cause it took me about a month

then it was the engine and gearbox's turn!
gearbox was a ebay steal at only £100 :thumb:

Had to bore the wastegate flange out from 38mm to 40mm to fit my wastegate and then just matched the ports with the heads

and then heat painted
