I got one for my birthday from the missus, really impressed with how meat comes out - does just fall apart.

Did chicken with smoked paprika first - ace, if a bit spicy
Second gammon in cola with kidney beans which I loved, but turns out missus doesn't like gammon
Today had pork with Red and yellow peppers, really good.

Loving the ease of just leaving it bubbling away all day and no need to stress with multiple things finishing cooking at once.

Good invention this

At the weekend I'm having a go at chowder.

Bought:

Haddock fillet
Coley fillet
Seabass fillets x 2
Scollops
Muscles
Double cream
White wine
Parsley
Potatos
Carrots

Pack of muscles is huge, says its vacuum sealed but to consume within 24 hours and don't freeze, I'm not making until Saturday. Stuck in freezer

Inspired by Man v Food (!) I'm going to do pulled pork this week, turns out there are a few recipes for it online too.

Bought a sage filled pork joint today and essentially it needs to be cooked for 8 hours on a bed of onions, then removed from cooker pulled apart and placed back in with onions and BBQ sauce and cooked for a further couple of hours.

Example of pulled pork, not exactly pleasing on the eye, but frickin tasty:

This could actually be amazing for making Steak and Ale pie, sometimes the beef isn't tender enough when you leave it in a pot for hours, probably use more electricity as well! Hmm, may need to invest!

this thread encouraged me to dig out my slow cooker and make a curry.

was going to use a wok but it's easier just to leave it in the pot to cook.

i put in chicken, pepper, onion, 2 curry sauces and a mixture of spices and table sauces

Pulled pork wraps were

Added:

Onions
Chilli powder
Garlic granules
Paprika
Cinnamon
Cumin
Salt & Pepper
BBQ sauce
Mayo

Cooked the pork all day on a bed of onions and put more on top of the pork. 2 cups of water were the stock. Pulled it all apart and shreaded it after 8 hours. Put it all back in the cooker and added the spices and sauce and cooked for a further hour.

Used a recipe off a website but nicked a few elements from an episode of Man v Food!
