I'd have hhe M3 obv.
but for what you have mentioned I would pick the Scoob. Only because I'm not a fan of the later Evos looks and scoobs are plentiful and very tuneable, plus more choice for buying the car than Evo I guess?

For the love of god don't spend £12k on a MK4 Astra.

Is it seriously going to be used as a weekend toy?

If so, I'd go all out and get a keeper. Something that won't look dated over a few years.
Unfortunately, Scoob's, M3's, Evo's don't age very well. They end up being quite common.

If it is strictly a toy then something special is the way to go. TVR etc

quite a few replys.... and lots going on my mind at the moment lol

porker.. would love one, would have to be an old one though pre89 but dont have a garage and a car that age would really like tucked away and in the dry!

veccy vxr is a good shout, but think its more of a family car, but a lotta car for the money IMO even though it got slated on top gear...

thing that worries me about a tvr is reliability and specialists, dont know of one about here... although any garage would go for it when and WHEN it breaks

but i do like them especially the one from swordfish
