I cant really tbh, i want to and might have a mad 5minutes but sadly i cant.
Just spent a day cleaning the rear and fiddling with the roof, hand fucking work.

Today I decided to have a fiddle with the car as i have the week off. So first i decided to tackle my roof issue of the tonneau cover crushing the roof when it goes down and not closing 100% properly.
This is what happens:

Can notice it where i picked up the car:
Anyway some playing around with straps in the hood and problem solved. I again forgot to take a pic untill i had began cleaning the tonneau cover as it was filthy.. (and no im not wearing mittens, thats a drying towel around my neck  )
No gap now 
So next was on to the task of cleaning the rear as it was ming.
this is what it looked like before:
So out came the bench hoping to find a couple of kilo'd of heroin or something good i can sell:

No heroin, not even a pound coin. Just some bobby pins and small change:

So galiptoned the shit out of the rear seats. Didnt make a damn bit of difference. Need new rear seats

Cleaned the tonneua cover and also the mounting points. Need to get trim covers or a hard top

Next up is PlastX rear screen, and clean/protecting the hood.
Also found a new induction kit but need some £££ so im ebaying crazy LD

Had the idea I wanted to do this after I saw a few threads on the Z8 push button start...
So I looked into it, saw that the 1Series/E90 has a push to start button that would match the illumination and keep things OEM+ etc... So I decided this would be a good idea.
So ordered myself one of these which turned up today:
Then turned it over and to my horror i saw this:
So i had a quick trial outside:
Practically a perfect fit too. Am absolutely gutted.
Would have more than likely just clicked in.
I had a look into making it work but apparently you need a separate circuit for it and all sorts of other things that are beyond me. So i think for now, ill stick with the good ole key!

What about a Honda S2000 start button? Or an alloy one sprayed black, I fitted my boot release into cig lighter on corsa it's perect size for such buttons.

Could work out what two pins on that switch make a circuit when pressed and run it onto a relay. Would then just need to work out the illumination.

Pins 1&2 are illumination.
I thought about removing the plug (clips out) and removing the inards and have it as a giant plastic moving button, that when presed activates one of these:

How it compares to an E46 M3
My dad has an e46 325i Convertible on a 56 plate, compared to other cars it feels like nothing else Ive drove, feels like it weighs a ton and is very solid, but feels light to drive, I know what I mean, Ive just explained it badly
just really wondering how far back that feeling of propper quality goes back through the BMW models

E46 is a better drivers car, its more poised and has about 1billion tonnes of grip. However, thats not to say the E36 is poo, has better steering feel if a little more understeer.
That quality you describe is why people like BMWs. They feel like they are hewn from granite, everything feels heavy (but not too heavy) and has a quality feel. Yet to drive they are nimble, precises and balanced. Hence their appeal.
Obviously the further you go back the less toys you get and the quality isnt as good. But the E36 is unmistakble. Its a BMW! Infact the doors feel more solid than the E46 i had, Not many people are a fan of the dated looks, but i think they are coming into their own.
Literally nothing for £4k you can buy that is this good tbh, such a good alrounder,

thats what I expected, fuck me if the doors feel heavier, the doors on our 325 feel like they weigh more than my Punto, Id hate to trap a hand in them
the straight 6`s sound immense too
I might just get one of these when I turn the magic 25

Thats what i did. Got my Z3m when i was 24 and 9 months as elephant did cheap insurance!
Straight six sounds good, im investing in a simota this week and cant wait to get it fitted

Needs a circuit. Plug from BMW is difficult and probably expensive.
I fancy my chances of bodging another switch together tbh. just wire in the illumination.
Seats are being attempted Saturday dude.
