Be careful, E46 headlights are VERY expensive!

Jambo, that rear bench looks stunning. Well done finding one in that condition

The new rear seats look super clean! Nice find Careful you don't disturb the airbag box thing when you change them over. I had to have the airbag light reset on mine

Old seats:

As you can see small hole in the leather, plus it is shiney after numerous attempts to clean to no avail I decided to try and find a replacement set. It's taken me 6months and spent more than I wanted but tbh it's still a massive bargain.

Start removing

Stuff removed:

New seats in. Photos don't do it justice. Foam is perfect, seats are firm, leather soft.

Happy Jambo

Much better!

I've found a full black E46 M3 interior for around £300, all of this fresh interior look is making me want it more and more and especially at that price!

Did a few more bits today. Brake light switch, had to destroy the old one to get it out. New one from GSF lasted 4miles and now has failed. I fucking hate that company second faulty sensor I've got from them. May of well installed a potato. Also tried to make the roof close better. Made no difference. Feel annoyed now!

Anyway, went to BMW and ordered a gen one plus some little bits of trim. They arrive Thursday.

So my drivers side door card was hanging off and the handle was loose. So repaired those and fitted chrome line handles. This was a complete pig of a job as the door card needs glueing in certain places. No before pics as it was too hit and I CBA.

Ref:

Here's the fixed handle and new chrome bit:

Other side:

So time to fix the spinning rattling horrid ignition barrel. Bane of my life. Could hear it over music.

Old:

Tool:

Out

It took forever as it was so fiddly.

New one:

That's it for today. Want to fit glovebox, dynamat, power pack and speakers tommorow.

E36s doorcards are a pain! I've been messing with them for years and still havnt got a perfect doorcard those strips that need glueing on are a bastard to do lol.

Great to see you doing these little jobs, i just leave mine and never have the handle trim fitted, might get it sorted soon now though.

Oh ye they are glued aswell, iv taken doorcards off a few times and found that the pocket has stayed on the door

Whenever i think that i have the card on perfect and the handle in place the next day it will fall off again

Yeah door pockets are a pain. Use some sikaflex type stuff to glue them back on and the same with that strip at the top of the card. Sorted mine out a treat.

I'd love it if you stuck a potato in as the brake switch then sent a pic to GSF telling them you'd found a solution to their dodgy switches!

I had some super duper strongest adhesive in the world. Tried that and it was shite. So just used good ole silicon, worked a treat.

Alas I need to take off the door cards and glue that bastard top strip on again oh well.

Never had a lasting Brake light switch from GSF. Usually find Euro car parts electrical stuff is pants but their switch was better on this occasion.

Was sunny and im off this week so time to continue fart arsing with the car.

Took this off:

Because these are shit:

Bought some of this lovely stuff:

Then fitted my new 200w Vibe coxials:

(wanted something as bassy as poss with no need for a sub)

So made some connectors from the stock ones so they are plug and play:

Ok so this pic was before the fitting but I'll grab a pic later as I seemed to have forgotten in the excitement to hear it all!

Sounds 350% better, so much more bass and a generally louder sound. I think that is largely down to the dynamat tho! Will do the fronts if I get time.

Also went shopping:

To replace my potato:

Turns out the one I removed originally wasn't a gen BMW one either so could be the cause of the issue with my constant check control bleeping and bulbs randomly going. Safe to say I am not looking forward to fitting this, anyone who's replaced one will know why.

Then I got a couple of bits of trim that are fubar or missing:

Seatbelt guides:

And hardtop mounting point covers which where absent from mine:

More updates soon!

This was the cause of all the heartache:

Replaced and now no bulbs out, no check control warnings. Everything is a ok

This needed sorting as was a real eyesore:

Tadaa

This has been bothering me as it looks messy:

So fitted these

They will assume a similar shade of black after a few weeks in the sun and a wash.

Didn't do too many pictures as it was stupid hot and I was delirious from the sun lol

So fitted this. Everyone needs one of these!

Replaced this:

With this:

New glovebox with working mechanism

Think I have had enough for one week so thats it for now!
