Had a leak for a while. Some if you may remmeber I changed thermostat housing, and that leak seemed to stop. Well it did, but only a bit.
After leaving car for a while I noticed level had dropped significantly, and wen I jacked up one side of car, the drips became constant. So after closer inspection leak was from the rad. Now these rads are £160 new, so I was pretty pissed off. I decided was my fault as rad had been in and out of a very tight area and had all kinda of dents.
After googling the rad, a lot of people had same issue, and apparently was a design issue on the earlier ones. Spot the error

Well today's plan was to finally bleed brakes. Nice and simple you'd think. From the start these have been a PITA, and today was no exception.
All wheels off for ease, then BOOM bleed nipple snaps on rears. FFS, great. So pack everything away again, and off to get rear cylinders. Two different types were listed for my car so bought a pair of each, stopped on way back for lunch, so didn't have to pack away AGAIN.
Two pizzas, rpcw's 4 cans coke £10. Bargain.
Then decided to et a different bleed kit, as mine required two people and lot of fart arsing around. Got one from machine mart. Nice bit of kit for £20. Screws onto brake fluid resovoir, other end goes on the tyre and pressure from tyre pushed fluid down, so when it's unbolted at caliper it is pressured out air. Lovely.
So went to change rear cylinder and to do that, brake like has to come off. We spent over an hour on this, as somebody previously ****ed the nut. Mole
Grips, and **** loads of swearing eventually got it off. Never had some much to ruble with anything.
Back toegther, after moving shoes and putting bearing a etc back on, and started bleeding. Now other side snapped off. OMFG! Finally got them bled and working after about 7 hours. What a ****
Have had a leak since day one of this engine build from what used to be the dipstick. Some of you may remember I chopped dipstick off to fit some braided hose, as it's flexible and can fit around exhaust manifold.
As Dave and I are re-tapping the thread for exhaust, and all of that needs to come off, now was perfect time to sort it.
So today I removed all bolts/hoses etc to make manifold removable when we do it to save time. At moment it's still on car just resting on the studs. It's purely there so oil doesn't drip from oil feed. I removed dipstick and is obvious why I have a leak :lipsmoker:
So just dropped off at the welders to see what they can do, welding bloke is on good terms with us, popped around again the otherday to see my car, he is building a LET Manta. Saw these outside too

Today I set about doing exhaust studs, my trusty fellow rpcw eater was absent today, so was bit boring 
Anyway
Repaired
Then rocker had to come off as was following thread tapping tool FFS
Have to take so much off to get access to this including exhaust and screamer pipe radiator and various hoses
Then Autovaux sent me wrong studs FFS
So had to cut them down
Was so dirty I snapped a nail brush
All went back toegther nicely, and bolts went tight. Re-fitted dipstick tube and all the other shit.
Then I discovered another problem. Loose nuts on two cam caps FORFUCKSAKEITSNEVERFUCKINGENDING

All looks ok, both nuts were loose, but wound all way down thread, so couldn't of been any movement.
No matter what I do, shit always happens to this car. Glad I spotted it, just means had to stop today as no torque wrench, and had to be done by 2pm.

Guessing you've taken the cap off and checked? If not. Pull it off and check the cap and cam for any damage.

Knowing this car, the inlet can has probably made the backbox and central locking break

6 were loose..

Today started with a trip to Wickes again, gettin a nice collection of tools from there now. Bought this to cut a hole, I have a set but needed smaller hole cut
Then we found this tool

All in now, put some water in, and doesn't seen to leak, won't know until under pressure really, went to prune turbo and flat battery  alm:
Done for today, last job is tracking and camber
Sounds a nice half hour job, and is in another corsa, due to room a lot has to be moved and lights have to come out for access etc too!
Even had tike to do work on Dave's car
