White House Down - 7/10

Quite good. Turn your brain off and just accept what is going on action film.

Only these points let it down -

- The fact the terrorists were able to get in to The White House armed
- The stereotypical computer geek that can take over computer systems by pressing 1,2,3... and all the while listening to classical music because he is cultured.
- How many presidents can one film go through.
- The tour guide and the propeller stopping at his face
- The amount of destruction, but you come to expect this from Roland flattern everything Emmerich.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - 6/10

I said it about the first one and this is no different - It just doesn't live up to the Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire films. If anything these reboots actually look better than the originals but the villains and actors just don't work for me. They are also lacking the dark humour of the originals. The only time it works for me is when Garfield has the suit on and is flying around New York. Everything else just doesn't feel right.

Watched this and Olympus has fallen last week, same plot, similar action apart from the epic plane scene, both quite good if you don't worry about the plot too much, as said.

Predestination 7.5/10

Good film with good twists. Worked it all out way before the end but enjoyable all the same.

I loved Olympus has fallen as it makes you laugh in the ridiculousness of the grandeur and action. Not seen the other one! Will have to see, but I really, really don't like Channing Tatum

Pompeii - 6/10 - great film but I feel the budget ran out towards the end as it ends quite quickly.

Next - 6/10. Great idea for a story line IMO, but would have been better with better actors + CGI. Still decent though.

Syriana - 6/10

Only because I thought the actual story was a bit confusing and not that clear. The production and acting was spot on and I wish I could have followed it better.

Under the skin: 6.5/10

Interesting concept, outstanding score, some excellent scenes (including nekkid Johansson) but the story (if you could call it that) was a bit weak, and pretentious. Oh and we get it, you saw 2001 and thought it was good.

The Purge: Anarchy - 7.5/10 much darker than the first, a watch in the dark film imo.
