right i'm pissed off took my car to vauxhall yesterday, and before i took it there, neons were working, when i got them bk, they weren't!!!

i noticed that one of the wires underneth the car was broke, and then i looked in the engine, and the fuse box was melted, fuse was ok!!! i checked all the conections and they r fine!!! any ideas on what the hell they have done???

could it be the relay box(if thats what its called) or have they blown a neon?? is so how do u know if a neon is blown????


going to vauxhall to complain, because every time i go there, they just say the r dangerous!!! they know jack!!!!!!!!!! i'm going to c if they will pay for some new ones!!!

well mate if i was u i would take the car back and get a complete refound or say to them that u what new noens mate as they should do one of these for u as they did it too me with my headunit

right, sounds to me like they were having a little fun with your car while you were away. On some certain neon kits you MUST NOT switch them on without the engine running or that is the problem you end up with, i was warned by Xtreme motorsport as they had a few with similar probs

when engine is off voltage is about 12.1volts when its on its 14v

Neons designed for use on a car really ought to be able to take a voltage anywhere between say 11 and 15 volts!

MY NEONS, when the engin is not running they are really dim and when the engin is running they go really bright.
checked the battery voltage is 12.3 when engin not running.
its anoying . any sugustions as to what the problem is

that might b the problem, if the engine was off the voltage would have dropped, then the neon tube would draw more current melting the wire

the kit Andy has uses a separte 9500v transformer.. it needs the 12V+ to run at its best.

a new 9500v transformer will be sent to him to test out the kit.

sounds like something has shorted out IMHO
always check wiring!!

If the voltage drops so does the current drawn.
I doubt any tubes would suck enough juice to melt the cable, summat wrong if it does.

cheers phil (neoquip) i will try the new transformer, then if that doen't work i will check all the wiring AGAIN!

Vauxhall said they will fix it, but truthly i don't think they will have a clue

i will try and blag them to buy a new set for me

No I dont use em, I have gone there a few times for generic bits that would be sold in other motor accessory shops, but no special stuff, please go into detail on the fuck ups cause I was planning to get my powerflow backbox from there.
