Thnaks Sean, surely it's not likely to "just die" though is it?
I mean last owner had it running until removal. I get fuel at bleed valve?

Timewasting?? You need your head checked ya fucking tool. Your the one who wanted extortionate amounts of money to meet half way. Your the one who suddenly decided you weren't going to put it on pallet that we were already arranging and you had agreed to do, your the one who kept changing the price... Generation had money waiting, you were the first decent looking engine, price was ok if a bit high, we were going to buy it, until you wanted £200 in diesel to travel a distance that probably would have cost half that. You ruined your own sale, not us.

So tbh, just fuck off mate, there are plenty of people that can sell things, there's also plenty of people that want to sell things and go about it being a fucking knob.

hate all you want, dont think i'll lose any sleep over it...

Gotta admit dragon, it's quite funny. Although my engine isnt running yet, it will be. I'm glad I bought of who I did.

Have you changed the crank sensor? Is the fuel pump working? You should be able to put your hand onto the top of the fuel pump and feel it work, It will NOT prime with ign, only once the engine is cranking.

crank sensor has been changed for a new one, we're getting fuel to the rail, so i assume pump is working, but we havent actually felt the pump to see if its pumping.

Okay, can check that. If it is cutting out, is it likely to be the fuel pump relay? And if it is the relay, can we test it by bypassing that relay?

What model of corsa is the engine going into??You do have an MPI fuel pump and not an Spi pump??

What are you doing with all the fuel after your trying to start it??The plugs will be soaking.

Try and fire it over, then unplug the fuel pump relay and fire it over with it unplugged. Then plug fuel pump relay back in and fire it over and so forth.Try doing that a few times.

I will say the same as before
WE NEED MORE INFO TO HELP YOU OUT..........

Basic Fault Finding 101 -

What is making the engine stop? Fuel OR spark
Is the engine sparking when cranking even when the engine stops?
Will the engine fire back up as soon as it stops?
Do you know how to use a Volt meter?
PLEASE STATE IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO ANY OF THE ABOVE.

I have a really good idea what it is BUT i need to know some info first, even if it just teaching you a leason to do some fault finding and stop using the internet hearsay to build your car.

Look mate you think i am trying to have a go at you but i am really not, just getting fed up with people asking for help and not giving any infomation.
Stop stabbing in the dark and guessing whats up for it, do some basic check and we may be able to help...

I agree its best to run a Mpi fuel pump but i really do not think thats the problem in this case. I have seen XE's run on SPI pumps before now BUT that sill dosent mean do not change it.

Think he did a typo up there, shell was originally an 8v using spi pump, then converted to x16xe using mpi pump. Now converting to c20xe so there's still an mpi pump in there.

Its getting fuel and spark

Sparks when cranking

Engine doesnt fire nicely again until ignition is taken back to 1st stage, and key turned through 2nd stage ignition and start.

Yes im quite confident with a multimeter.

We aren't stabbing in the dark either, we've tried and checked pretty much everything people have asked us to try. We're not silly and know the basics to check, we exhausted our own knowledge (several days worth) before posting on the usual forums like here. If you know what to do or have some more things to try we'll gladly try them, I appreciate any effort that anybody puts in to helping us out.

Whats cutting the engine out? fuel or spark?
IE when the engine stops has the fuel been cut or has it stop sparking?
Start the engine keep key where it is, remove sparkplug and see if it will spark when cranking WITHOUT removing the key OR taking it back to stage 1

Will the engine fire right up once you take the key back out and start again? IE fire up without any problems?

Any engine Faultcodes?
