Rich, when i've interviewed people i've prefferred to read their covering letters before I get them in. It might be different in different businesses, but if I have a role of junior network administrator up for grabs, and I recieve a CV of a man at the end of his career, with a covering note saying thats the level he's been at for a long time and enjoys it i'm more likely to get him in than recieving a CV of someone early 20's who is only looking for progression. Would rather read the letter then waste my time getting someone in.
