Well last night me and deneven cleaned and wire wooled the head, inlet and exhaust ports

then we scraped off all the carbon on the valves and polished then up

Hopefully over the weekend we will grind the valves back in and get it all built back up ready to fit

Any advice on putting the valve collets back in? (we have the proper valve spring compressor tool)

Pictures below

UPDATE TIME!

So, allot has happened in the past week. Allot of cold:

Spent the night in the shed, consisted of valve grinding and refiting plus cleaning the head up. Here's the start of the night:

Cleaning the valve tops (Clean compared to dirty):

Grinding them in (The proper way, with a drill):

Nice and straight:

We had a break on Tuesday for gay night, then went and lashed on Wednesday night. We bolted and torqued the head down. Installed the cams, and placed all the timing idlers etc.

So comes to tonight, which went well bolted on the inlet, the oil breather pipe, the fuel rail loom and the ecotec (blanked off). Pics tomoz.

i have also started my c16xe rebuild on my arden blue corsa
