Depends where you went? If it was a cowboy asking for £1000, then no, but if you took it to Polished Bliss (who are widely regarded as one of the best if not the best in the country) then quite possibly. However, a minor paint correction detail from them only costs £595+vat, so you'd have some change from your £1000.

Another point you have to remember is that the majority of cars they do are top marques and the owners obviosuly don't mind paying a premium for premium work.

This is just a small selection of cars they've done...

i do get detailing and i understand whats involved in the services which are being offered.

would i feel better at having a few swirl marks noticeable only in extreme light or better at being 600 pound out of pocket to get rid of a few swirl marks, i know what i would personally rather have.

I get it, but I just dont think I could bring myself to pay that kind of money for for a cleaning/paintwork correction service when I can do an alright job myself.

But in the same sense I wouldnt get a professional painter to paint my walls or a tiler to tile the bog floor, because I can do an ok job myself...........maybe im just tight

I would probably opt to spend 500 quid on the gear to give it a go myself.
