Okay so little update ...

Whipped my sump off to give if a clean and I hate gasket sealant, the sump had been well and truly sealed on.
So off it came with some persuasion

Bit nasty, gave it a wipe but decided to clean it at work

So after cleaning it at work and I ordered some new gaskets, apparently the c20let has a gasket above and below the baffle plate ?? So I bought two

Seeing as that's a crap update ill do a proper one the corsa has gone to the body shop ...

Picked up my brand new gm rear panel

Dropped the car off

And so the work begins
The bulkhead was a mess :/

And after some work

Like new

Manny who's doing all the work noticed a piece on the bulkhead had been cut out so he put a new piece in

Next the back end was cut out

Bit of rust found

Has now been repaired
Bit more rust

Arch repaired

And rear panel in

More to come when I charge my phone

So part 2 of the Bodyshop update !

Ill let the pics do the talking

As manny was repairing the crack it cracked further along

Now as some of you will have seen earlier in my thread the d/s arch had had it, so manny started to cut out the arch and ufortunately there was more rust behind

The arch has rusted behind the quarter panel but manny has repaired the arch

Some further investigation found ....

That this car has already had a rear quarter at some point in its life.

This is the sill

Door pillar

The fuel filler was rusted to death

And repaired

Door pillar

And now the rear quarter has been cut out so I need to sorce a new one

I've found a new rear quarter but

It's in Wales, so ill be going getting it as it is £50 including vat brand new from vauxhall. Usually £230 I'm told

That's all for now

So bodyshop update 3!! Wales trip!
got up at 6 on friday and this was my trip...

didnt spend long on the motorway and got on some great roads and saw some amazing scenery

got my panel

and it just fit :/

after putting he panel in my car i went for a drive around the village and found this !

so me being me i left the car and went for a walk. Im a big urbexer and enjoy visiting old buildings hospitals etc etc. After a short walk i was not dissapointed!

id stumbled upon Cilgwyn Mansion, built in the 1800s.

Its being restored now but this amazing piece was still there..

got a few more pics on the way home

so arrived at mannys at 8pm and had a look at his handywork

think these pics are better than the previous ones ive posted

so went to bed on friday

got a text from manny on saturday to say he had finished !!

panel in primer before going on

and its on !

hes also repaired the drivers door.

it took him 3 days in total to do all that work !

its going for paint next but needs a new bonnet first.

thats all for now !

Surely the dust everywhere should be no surprise as mine was exactly the same when I picked it up.
