anyways my 1.2 has just started overheating today, gauge flys up to the red box (while driving) and fan doesnt kick in, driving low revs isnt cooling it at all like it used to after being in traffic for abit,
if i open the header tank it pisses most of my coolant out then the level drops right back down as if i dont have any coolant :@
hoping its an air block or crap fan or dodgey temp sensor
but what else are common faults?

well i would say fan switch if you open your bonnet on the car it will be next to your air filter at the bottom of your fan unplug that and bridge the wires see if that works and its not a good idea to put cold water into a warm engine also antifreeze prevents rust etc etc

also if you bridge the wires and that works you can either wire it up to a switch or remove the 30/32 mil nut that the wires plug into (water will poor out) and change that plug back in and fill with water and antifreeze 50/50

it depends because you car will only cool itself if you fan isnt working by wind chill and if your not going fast enough and it isnt cold enough you will overheat

well thats the first thing i would of done as it takes 5 minutes to change and its pennies compared to the thermostat always start of small then work your way bigger is my moto and dont fix nothing thats not broke lol
so just change that if you still have a problem i would say probably the thermostat could be wrong
