No-one done one yet?

Just thinking about this on the way to work this morning.

Sub 1 tonne, 200bhp, 300lbft torque (remapped), 45+mpg (prob more due to bugger all weight unlike an Astra).

Would it be hard, viable? Sure its not going to be a C20LET, but then the fuel economy should be awesome and with the torque it means u'll never have to change gear in such a little car?

Wonder what that kinda engine price/conversion price would go for?

had this conversation over on corsa c when i had my c and it was estimated about 8k for the conversion.. that was from courtenay or somewhere....

reckon it would be a great conversion though, better in a C when you can use the f23 gearbox from the 1.7cdti and same shafts etc

just the wiring issues, which i dont reckon could be all that hard for people in the know

The handling would be interesting due to such a heavy lump over the front wheels!

Driving around and modifying a Corsa B? I thought you said two days ago it was for boys and you would be better off buying a house and a Benelli?

Or just buy an astra for 8k and then you don't have a 15 year old car with a 2 year old engine that will never be reliable.

Whats different from a C20LET with F28??

Probably lighter than that is?

Oliver - Its a simple question, like f**k im going to do it. Why put that in anyway?

Nic - God your a northen fag boy. I could buy a bike, but i'd rather buy a vtec and hand your ass to you on a paper plate (i'd say silver platter, but i doubt you know what these are).

Thats not the question is it.

The question is, has it been done.

I'd do it in a C or a D maybe, but not a B, then again surely you may as well just tune up the 1.7cdti? or get an astra

I thought the 1.7 not to be anywhere as good as the 16v 150 unit?

Probably easier to get in a C, but the B is much lighter.

I know its easier to get an astra, and im not even doing this, but then isn't that the same as going "why put a C20LET in a corsa when you could just buy a Cav/Calibra with it already in"?

The questions not asked as to what is the point, that question remains true to anything modified on any car, whats the point??

Instant turbo spool, good mpg, it'll be quite nippy, and pull hard in every gear.

Or a C then, wonder if anyones done it in a Corsa C. AS said, can imagine the wiring being a fair bit easier.

i must agree with the fact that you might aswell buy an astra with the engine in? however if the engine come up separately i think it would be quite an ace conversion!
