Whats different from a C20LET with F28??

Probably lighter than that is?

I would say the 1.9 CDTi is heavier than the LET.

Its rather fun in my astra so in a corsa with brake and suspension upgrades

I would imagine you would need LSD to, struggle to get grip at the best of times in the Astra

Would make an AWESOME car!

But its CANBUS management so absoloute nightmare to get it running. And I doubt there are many if any aftermarket common rail diesel management systems

Lazy heavy lump with a small power band.

Sounds like a great idea

Not a small powerband fad, its instant power, which will die off as the revs rise.

If its such a bad powerband, why do vauxhall use it and get good reviews on the engine? No different from any derv really?

I think it would be great fun.

Plodding along, 1500rpm, need to overtake - plant foot, wheels scrabble for grip, ease past as you get to 2500rpm, change gear, stay in 50mpg zone

Dervs in general in performance cars just a bad idea IMO

I know what the power band is I've driven both the Vectra and Astra CDTi 150.

Only place these belong are on the motorway tbh

Erm I may not of owned one but I would say I have covered best part of 40k miles in a few over the last couple of years.

Golf GT PD140
Astra SRi 150
Vectra CDTi
Passat TDi 130
320d
All cracking cars in their own right but after caining the Golf round it really reafirmed my opinion on them.

Fad, is there a car you haven't driven?

I wouldn't say they are lazy, just don't rev hard but when you have that torque you don't need a rev happy engine.

I know, 11,000rpm is much cooler. Anything less is lame yeah?

Lorries are fun, but they don't reve that high.

Fad is grumpy these days. He used to be mellow and happy. He's got angry as he gets older.

ALL diesels are deceptive, but modern diesels actually rev higher than older ones.
