got a corsa redtop, and its a bitch to start in the cold.

to get it started i have to put it in gear with clutch engaged and turn her over so the car moves under starter motor. and then it will eventually start after a few attempts.

when i 1st start it t nearly kicks in but then gives up and just turns over under key.

will start fine once warmed up.

any ideas? cheers

should still start with a dodgy cts, would of said idle control valve but giving it a bit of throttle usually gets it to start.

have you done a compression test on it?

No it shouldn`t still start witha nackered CTS, this reads the coolant temp and chainges the mixture to suit. If it as high ressistance and thinks the engine is hot, the fuel mix will be weak and the timing advanced , not good for cold start !
