Right peeps. Im thinking about getting a new laptop, i have a media center and netbook at the moment which im going to sell so keep eye out for my posts in sales section this week.

Im thinking of combining th two so I just have one unit, fed up of all the plugs/leads power being used and need to downsize as Im moving into rented soon.

I dont want to spend too much, but would like a fairly good machine. Will be used for films, itunes, webbing, web design etc HDMI is a must. Not so fussed about optical drive

Shall i get a 13.3 screen or bigger?

Intel duo core i think would be better, least 3GB ram and 320Gb hard drive. (I have 100GB music) so thinking that the 250 might fill up quick

Thoughts?

Thoughts??

Thoughts???

Any other ideas welcome. Would prefer to keep costs to around £500ish but if I get a much better suited laptop for slightly more then I would spend the extra now instead changing it 6months down the line

Thanks

I've never had Samsung computer gear until I bought my NC10 and I must say I'm bloody impressed with it, the build quality is perfect and the battery lasts 7, yes 7! fooking hours!

I'm sorely tempted to get the bigger NC20 or a samsung notebook.

N510 seems interesting, just seems altho may not be fast enough. I have an NC10 and if the screen was bigger id prob stick with it, altho the N510 has slightly bigger screen its still an Atom processor

Just think you will regret selling your media center if a bit of a geek.

I have a Mac Mini i use as a media centre and a dell mini 9 net book. Then there is my quad core rig and power edge 840 server.

Dell is always good for 3 year waranty!!

My other half has just ordered a new 17" widescreen Dell laptop for about £500, has 3Gb RAM, 320Gb HDD, (can't remember CPU sure it is an Intel of some description) with Vista Premium + free upgrade to Windows 7 Premium, and also has dedicated 512Mb video RAM which is really good for a laptop!

I find the NC10 to runa bit slow for itunes. Also Vista score for NC10 is 29 and its 22 for the N510 ?!

The question you should be asking yourself isn't does the MAC do what I need but more like do you NEED a MAC?

As I like the NC10 so much I decided im going to save my money upgrade the ram from my NC10 to this, upgrade the hard drive as I have a 320GB SATA and stick it all in this:

http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/detail/detail.do?group=itbusiness&type=notebookcomputers&subtype=nseries&model_cd=NP-N510-KA01UK

All rounder should work fine, that way I can keep my media center rather buy one machine for everything.
