I heard a rumour that they are increasing all 2mb customers to 10mb in May, but keeping 10m as they are. 10mb users will continue to pay £7 more than 2mb users, but the 2mb users (10mb in May) will keep their old price (about £7 less than what the original 10mb users are paying). It's been suggested to downgrade to 2mb for a month and then get increased for free, saving yourself about £7 a month.

I'm not sure how true this is, but I've seen it discussed on a few forums. Apparently they're upgrading 10mb users to 20mb users but not for several months after this upgrade, so you could save up to £50 if the rumour is true.

Anyone heard anything solid?

It's true.

I downgraded from 10mb to 2mb 2 months ago and my download speed didn't reduce by more than 1 half.

Problem is, there are rumours that the 2mb->10mb customers will have a stricture STM put in place.

Eventually 10mb customers will be going to 20, and the 20 will be going to 50 so tbh it wouldn't surprise me with VM!

My £10 a month o2 adsl broadband is far quicker than my £17 (full price £25) virgin cable ever was.
