A very quick question. Is the ECU diagnostics for a vauxhall corsa b model 1.4 16V sport compatible with an universal OBDII fault reader.

That says it works on corsa B's?

Wee brother is a vaux mechanic and he says he's had one of the fault readers working in an old corsa b.

yes that one should work but it is a pc based type , the standard universal obd2 will not work on mine x16xe year 2000 as mine is not obd2 compatible like I said has to be 2001 onwards, anyway my mate uses a sykes on mine with no problem as he is a auto electrician, if some one wants to try and connect up a standard universal obd2 not pc based to my motor and get a signal from the ecu I will give say I,m wrong but I,m not.

The more expensive garage spec will work have them used on mine, but the budget 35 quid non pc ones do not as I have tried two on mine, out of interest what make is your cheap one thats a good price to be compatible with non obd2 compliant motors.

Im sure all corsas are OBD2 as OBD 1 is a totally differnt socket. There is just differnt standards of OBD2. I have two cheap OBD2 scanners, and if one doesnt work the other does.....same for most cars
