pilot light on our system seems to be out as the heating or water doesnt come on,
I've pushed the wee red thingy to light it but still doesnt want to light the system 
Any ideas?

What sort of system?
Is the fan coming on?

Pilot tube might be blocked.
Is it firing and the pilot light coming on then going off or nothing?

need to know a bit more about the boiler first
is it old or new, is it a combi?

Its all fine now, would help if i had the heating turnt on at the wall  was turnt off at the mains.
