Had a go at timing my 0-60 earlier because we could

Bearing in mind there were two of us, in the rain, on a bumpy road, it's not exactly going to be a land speed record

Anywho, best time was 19 seconds

Not far off the 16.5 that Vaux claim

Maybe add the two numbers together and it would be closer

12v

You have to drive them with turbo lag in mind - keep them above 3krpm and they aren't too bad.

Of course I use the term 'too bad' very loosely. They are fucking terrible.

Better than a 1.2 8v mind

Easy to say when you have a rev counter

Asked the bloke in the dealership about it, he said it would be £200-300 and I would need my ECU re-calibrating Uhhh... Yeah. I'm sure.

I'm pretty sure you could just get some clocks from a 12v GLS and it'd be plug and play.

Does your speedo start at 0mph or 10mph?

Potentially, yes, because they are electrically driven.

The ones in my GLS are electrically driven. I should imagine the loom for the rev counter is there, therefore should plug and play.

Don't count me on that.

I sorta did a 0-60 run in my 12v, didn't have a stop watch or nothing but it felt like it did it in 12 - 14 secs. I know its defo quicker than the 19.9 secs its supposed to be.

For everyone saying about the rev counter, afaik all 12v's are electronic, and as long as you get clocks out of a 12v then they should work, if you get them from any of the 4 cylinder engines it won't work because the ecu is receiving 1 less pulse from the engine or something like that so it counts it wrong.

I paid sri_davie for some but they've still not come - about 5 months later

I can't see why vaux would put different looms on rev and non-rev counter models, surely when they're putting the looms in they don't know what spec it's going to be?

That's what I'm saying, so the connector for the rev counter should be there.
