i didn't get any pictures of the old engine coming out and i didn't take that many of the conversion as i just wanted to get on and get it finished. 28th august i got delivery of the following:

redtop
f16 box
conversion mounts
motorsport driveshafts
mtech conversion hubs
anti roll bar spacers

and other conversion bits and bobs

the engine:
1992 c20xe
coscast head
arp head bolts
chipped ecu with raised limiter to 7700

the weekend was then spent putting it in and getting it running

while the bumper was off i gave the engine bay(no pictures) and under the bumpers a tcut and polish

almost finished

but then i went to turn it over and nothing happened yep i forgot to plug the starting and charging loom in haha, the redtop was orginally in an 8v corsa but after a year of reliablity(shocking i know) the previous owner(a mates mate) split the car and me being the tool i am got rid of the 1.6 with the 16v starting and charging loom and the redtop had the 8v one on.

so after alot of searching in local scrappys i found a tigra so i had the loom from that and fitted it on saturday 31st october, i fitted the battery went to start it but no power was coming from the battery but after some investigating i found out it was because one of the wires that goes onto the positive for the battery had been taken behind the engine when i fitted the loom. once i had found that, i went to start it and it just turned over then i remembered i had ran the 1.6 out of fuel before the conversion, so a quick dash to the petrol station and once again i tried to start it and it what do you know it started. best sound ever haha

this is what i left it like on monday

jobs left to do:

master cylinder vacume pipe
sort exhaust

and thats all really just need to tax it again as it runs out end of this month

well its not gonna be my propper car for obvious reasons and i've seen a brocade 1.4 sport that im gonna keep my eye on. this will be taken care of now though, all new underseal ect

i know i have changed the plans for it alot in the year i've owned it, so im not actually gonna say what im doing with it now so i don't seem a tool if it changes haha. The only 2 things that are deff going to happen is coilovers for the front and 1 of 3 wheels astra gsi fanblades in silver, cav slabs in black or comp mo's in black.
