I posted loads of pics ages ago about my back yard Project, I would add this on to that post but as the search is shit it'll take a month to find it.

Basically I got a brand new detatched house on the cheap as the builders had basically abandoned it an left the garden on all kinds of levels!! Was 2 feet deep in water on 1 side Anyway my brother in law is a Landscape Gardener and offered to take a week off work come and stay at mine(he's from Manc) for the week and do the job for nothing. Top Lad.
Few pics to show the progress, can't find any of when we first bought it, the groundwork we put in was rediculous before even started building.

Anyway, it currently looks like the last couple of photo's except it is now turfed and finished, fences treated etc etc, however it feels a bit bare, any ideas for livening it up a bit??

summerhouse?

I built a log cabin at the bottom of the missus' garden a couple of years back. We now spend more time n there than in the house; I ran mains electric and an outside tap supply to it; I've got TV and sofa etc in there; its also got a veranda and a brick built bbq at the side.

All in cost was about £3500 but its added another room to the house tbh

3m x 3m with a 1.5m veranda/roof overhang

Really well built Finish pine one; the only mechanical fixings are the floor and roof boards; the rest is like a giant lego set. It took longer to prepare the ground/lay the electric cables than it took to put up.

I've put a shingle tile roof on which has really finished it off

Inside we have a sofa bed, TV, storage unit for the missus' business stuff, and an oil filled radiator. I spend 2/3 nights a week in there as opposed to the house

That would be great if you could get me some pics matey I've got a full pallet of the stone blocks left over from building my wall so could build it up a bit above the ground level. Hmmmm, got me thinking now

Tom, the stone isn't on general sale, it is made by a company in Nottingham exclusively for Haslam Homes. My house was built by Haslam and I wanted the retaining wall to match my house, it took a lot of pleading to get them to sell me some and they checked my address against Haslams Developments to make sure I definately lived in one of their houses wtf. So I think you'd have a job getting any tbh.

Try a company called Marshalls(their stuff is sold in most Builders Merchants),they do something very similar which I think is called Black Yorkstone.
