Aye that's what me and my mate are going to be doing but the car wont be drivable for a few months yet so was just asking the question. I suppose this hasn't been tried before so i'm the test subject

It's a 3 wire just like the Corsa part but the plugs will need swapping over.
If it does work it would mean more availibilty in scrap yards as the Corsa one seems pretty rare.

That's what has us wondering is the fact the digi dash on Mk2 Astra's had about 5 types of transducer.
It all boils down to what pulse rate the Corsa speedometer and Daewoo use. Suppose i'll find out soon enough.

OK, copied content from the howto.

This is the transducer that's required:

The plug on the left was acquired from the scrapyard earlier in the day. This is the plug that was on my car:

This needed to be removed and then it was a case of matching the wire colours:

This is the transducer in place:

All covered up with conduit:

Cheers mate. I know about this Vauxhall transducer but they're something like £40 and was wondering if my £5 Daewoo transducer would work and save me a few quid.

I don't really have time to be impatient with it to be honest, I've got loads to do on the body with prepping bumpers, arches fitting sideskirts welding engine bay and smoothing the boot before it goes to the bodyshop next month that's on top of getting the engine and box in next week. The speed sender should be at the bottom of the list but I keep thinking about it

That's only half of it chap. Car is basically stripped down, Only thing I half actually got finished is the gauge pod although the gauges aren't wired up yet.
The Veccy seats haven't been touched yet.
Yesterday was quite productive as I got the boot and fuel flap poppers working.
God i'm depressing myself now

You putting Vectra GSI seats in?

Thats a project I lost patience with myself lol....selling them tomorrow!

Glad to see your doing lots of the work yourself though fella...much more rewarding if you ask me.

Yup got a set of GSi seats waiting to be bodged in
What did you find hard?

Everything on the car is being done between me and a mate. Only thing we're not attempting is the painting of the car which is being done by a professional.
We'll be doing the prep work though. I hate paying for things I can do myself.

Its not that they are hard to fit, its more the case of I don't have a welder or the time frame required to do the math lol

Basically I worked it out in theory, i just lacked the time to source some metal strips and a welder and the exact measurements.

Add to that the fact the car is the wifes daily drive....(as it is shes currently driving around minus a passenger seat due to me butchering the subframe as a test!!!)

Been there done that My original frames are now junk after taking a grinder to them. Luckily I work with a guy who works part time at a scrap yard who sorted me out with a free set of Corsa frames and my mate has borrowed me his welder so I hope to have them in soon.

Nice.

Did you get the Recaro adaptor bars with them?

Mind you saying that you probably won't need them. Most people seem to weld the Recaros directly onto the Corsa runners.

Yes I got lucky and got a full GSi interior complete with adaptor bars for £150. The ad was on VVOC for 15 mins before me and my mate were on the way up there as he needed the rear seats for his Veccy. Got some heated seat pads out of an old Volvo today. It was fun taking a stanley knife to the leather

My thinking is strip most of the stuff off the Veccy seat barring the height adjuster and bolt/weld that to my Corsa frames.

Damn thats cheap.

Sounds like a plan with the seats....remember to take some pics if you can during the process.

Mind you, mine are likely to be sold tomorrow evening so its not like it will tempt me to try again lol
