Very different from your usual shots, both in style and subject.

I'm not sure about the post processing here. Struggling to find the tone you're trying to portray.
Her lipstick looks a bit blown out and you seem to suffer from a lot of banding issues in the shadows on the wall behind her.

The lighting is great, though, and you captured a lot of detail in the smoke which makes the shot look very "alive".

Mind if I ask what this is for? Or just a bit of playing around?

The original shot was very bland so I thought I'd throw in some splashes of colour to liven it up a little.
The banding is just from saving it for the web and compressing it.

It's not for anything in particular. Just messing about with a mate.

If we're doing kid photos

Only took her to the park to get Autumnal shots, didn't get a second without her wanting to do stuff

Just noticed it look like she's had her shins removed in the top photo. She hasn't although she is short for her age

Great shot and incredible architecture!

Would work well in B&W, I'd imagine.

i don't like it as much in B+W, those were the comments made over on TP too. I like the amber glow as if it was a lightbulb!

It was cool architecture yes, it was actually in a building renowned for it's cubist architecture apparently (i'm not an expert). I was just in there for some awesome strudel! (it's a café now) If you find yourself in Prague, make your way to the Grand Cafe Orient

Fair play Paul, this Cosina lens produces some awesome images for the price. Is it a dedicated Macro lens?

good man Rob I would be interested to see what you think of

They feel very cheap but reports suggest they are very well made - AF is noisey but I tend to use MF anyway

I think it creates some great shots personally especially for the price

did it come with the 1:1 adaptor

I read up about them before looking at buying one and a lot of people say it feels cheap and has a lousy AF system but it cant be much worse than the kit lenses that come with mose lower end DSLRs these days!

I've got a broken Canon lens with a working USM motor still in tact so if I get itchy fingers I may have a go at upgrading the AF

The stuff I have seen on Flickr looks awesome. Funnily enough most of your images pop up when I searched for "Cosina Macro"

I've got the 1:1 coming too. Its got everything apart from the box which is no big deal. Have you tried this lens with extension tubes by any chance?
