Corsa C sxi struggles to select 1st and 2nd when you go to select 1st it goes into 3rd and with 2nd goes into 4th But if you lift the lever for selecting reverse and go to select 1st or 2nd it goes in gear fine

Any ideas?

its a really common problem mate, yours have around 30-40k miles on?

i have my girlfriends c going in this week for it. the part is 120 from lmf or vaux but can get a replacement from a model later than 04 or an earlier model with over 50 will have had its gear linkage changed for modified one.
i just paid 30 quid for one from scrappy(modified one) and garage local to me charging 35quid to fit it mate
