I will be keeping the boot, it looks good.
Need to figure how to keep it shut though lol, i may cut some out and fit the latch!

Cant really do much to the bonnet tbh, gel coat is only thin and its wavey all over. Looks ok enough for that it is, but carbon ftw!

Last night i cracked on, got the windows fitted properly & for final. Also i got all door handles and locking mechanisms in and working. Then the carbon door cards on. Also the roof strips on, wing mirrors on and the windows masked up ready for spraying on the boarder. Single wiper conversion built and installed- Pics....

Today got the boarder sprayed after scotching the windows up, came out sooo nice! The spoiler will hide the top of the boot window hence i havent sprayed boarder there.

Love the carbon:

Spanking new rad came:

Seat Side mounts painted:

Aldo got my morettes built up and ready to shine:

After sorting my garage at the weekend, today i got the engine off the stand and onto the crane so i can work on the rest and get engine sorted:

crank rear oil seal pushed into place, was a struggle to get in without damaging, VERY tight fit:

Also got all the hose clips on and tightened.

Flywheel, clutch and ARP fly bolts:

All torqued up to 60nm :

Starter motor on, and clutch plate and cover aligned with the.... clutch aligning tool believe it or not

Got everything else torqued up too, main crank bolt to 250nm, bottom crank pulley bolts to 20nm and so on.

Tommorow i will be fitting the clutch release bearing into the bell housing, then fit the gearbox bell housing to the block.

Also expecting a package from QED tomoro with a few little vital parts such as thermo housing to head gasket ring and cambelt tensioner spring.

CARBON BUMPER UPDATE:

Was FINALLY meant to be collecting my carbon bumper from Performance-Trim today at PVS. But guess what, they have let me down... AGAIN!

I went all the way to PVS mainly just to collect the bumper, cost loads getting there too and NOTHING! I felt so let down!

So now i am STILL bumperless, a year on from when i donated my MINT gsi front bumper to them to make moulds for the carbon items.

I think Mike at Performance-trim needs to get his priorities right. Im NOT happy.

Sorry Dan, do you mean bonnet or bumper?

With regards the bumper, I am very sorry that it has been dragging on for this long. As posted on the bumper thread, producing these few bumpers have lost us literally a couple of thousand pounds trying to get them right and up to our standards for sale. As a business, it's very difficult for us to prioritise things that are loosing us money, especially at this enconomy's difficult time.

I'd like to reliterate that we have offered to buy you another original gsi bumper in replacement for the one that you kindly sent to us and we'll still be honering our discount on the carbon bumper itself when we finally produce one that's up to our standard. It's likely that the bumpers won't be on sale in the future after the original group-buy has been completed. The other two group-buy customers have been offered refunds on their deposits if they no longer want to wait.

All of our other parts (wings, bonnets and door trims) have a 2-week turn around time, it's only the bumpers that are giving us a head ache.

I hope this helps to clear things up, I'm passionate about what my company does and it's a real dissapointment for me to know we've let you down - As I've offered at PVS, you just need to let me know what else we can do to make this up and keep a good customer.

Got out the under-seal and done the entire underside of the car and all the arches:

New windscreen fitted and i done a checker roof:

Brake line ran to rear and exhaust in the making:

Once the exhaust is done, i will fully heat wrap the entire thing and do the 4-2-1 also.
