PS3 can only play Blu-Ray and normal DVD and DVD-R, RW, ROM.

But it also upscales DVD into HD resolutions. Which makes a fair difference, but not as dramatic as an actual Blu-Ray.

The Xbox HD DVD player can only play HD DVD and does not upscale normal DVD, as far as I know. (Does it even play normal DVD or do you have to use the 360 DVD drive?)

Mine doesn't play HD-DVD's. I put one in and it said 'Are you joking? Get this inferior format out of here ASAP'. Fair enough is what I thought.

Lol as lee_wee said, the 360 itself upscales, don't need the hd-dvd drive for that.

My PS3 plays DVD's that have been burnt in data form and every other dvd/cd other than HD i think.
