Quite like them, considered one myself.
Could you stretch to a Quattro Sport? http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/57211/audi_tt.html

The V6 and Quattro Sport had slightly different front bumper and rear spoiler designs to the others

I like them although the rear seats are tiny in the coupe and i was disappointed with the performance for a 3.2

I like the old TT, would have got one instead of the S3 if I could carry more than 2 people and a midget.
New one doesn't look as groundbreaking as the 1st one did when that came out, still a nice looking car though.
Get one Jambone.

Old one was a purist design study, and is more interesting as such. New one as you say is more conventional but, well, less gay.

Jambo I would go for it, I drove one recently and it wasnt bad at all.
Like you say your growing up and apprciating the finer things now.
Personaly I think they still look pretty good now and with a few cosmetic modificatin can look quite fresh.
Also i feel people are missing the point of getting into something nice and bit more grown up.
Unfortunately these cars have a stigma attatched to them but if you genuinely like them and a 225 with a map will be quite a motorway muncher!
Also take note you are taking advice from Corsa owners and a chap who thinks bullimic cars are cool

Pmsl Fadders. Im not fussed by the stigma, get enough of that driving a red astra hatchback with a loud exhaust rather be a hairdresser than a boy racer!
also interior is so cool, i lost count of how many times i opened and shut the metal plate that hides the stereo on my mates one
a nice red 225 with silver leather or grey with red leather and a big remap would be ace

Is there one that comes with a carbon roof as standard?
One round here silver with carbon roof and spoiler... massive spec, and stripped rear!

Right where to start
225 BHP 4wd
180 4wd/2wd
150 2wd
If your looking at 2002 then you want a 52 plate onwards
Revisions inlcuded, facelight lifts, suspension dropped by 20mm, better ride and most had 18's as standard
225 gets bose, and xexons as standard
If your looking at an 02 plate then an sline is a better buy although you pay a a little extra just for the badge
You will know if its the facelift as the 225 got grey surrounds on the headlighst as oppose to the balck surrounds. the 180 kept the black surrounds
I had a 52plate 225. V6 valance and rear spoiler are a quick and easy mod to imporve the backend
V6 front bumnper is nice if you can afford it
Problems include, water pumps, ARB, bushes, coils and electrics are a bit dodgey
Its not 4wd and only transfer up to 40% to the rear above 15 mph and when the ECU senses wheel spin
The haldex loses alot power so transmission losses are high
Filter, exhaust, remap will see 275 BHP max
Standard is good for 300 BHP and 300lb/ft only as the conrods are the week point
Above this deep pockerts are required.
Caney (TT-Forum) is running 415 BHP with NOS with 0-60 of 4 seconds
Finally pics
