I'd defo go for the Nurburg edition... For the simple reasons:
Its in White
It'll hold its value better than a standard VXR being a "limited Edition"
Its has a £1200 exhaust already fitted that sounds the mutts!
Full leather (with embossed Nurburgring symbol) thats £1000 option for the full leather on a standard VXR.
Tinted windows as standard

If I had one i'd get the wheels powder coated in Black mind. Then its just a case of a remap and the AP brake upgrade and you've got yourself a very trick car

I think its jsut teh £850 cat back exhaust, not the full system.

Leather isn't worth it in the VXR imo.

We've discussed it before, but its a marketting ploy. If it was a true celebratory car, then they should have added 4 pots, the uprated suspension etc...

They've just sprayed it white, put a few stickers and logos on it, put some lighter wheels on it, and brand it as a special edition.

Really, an 888 astra comes with a higher spec (higher than a VXR).

Totally agree, they should "gone for it" with a few more tweeks, but there's no denying it does look cool in white and will im sure retain more value than a standard VXR. Not a fan of the stickers and fake carbon trim. But for the money I still think its a contender given the option...

£1,635 Extra than a standard VXR and the options worth noting that are:
Lightweight rims and bespoke tyres (don't know if they are "that" special mind)
Tinted glass
Remus Exhaust (£850)
White paint
Full leather (£1000 option)

It depends what your after I suppose, but to me the extra's, individuality and re-sale value easily justify the extra cost!

Here it is on the optional 19's

http://www.vxronline.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=7848&page=8

Just take the Stickers off! Then go to the Ring, do an 8min flat And put a Nice black Nurburgring sticker on the back

The stickers could be worse... They could say "RENAULT F1 TEAM" all over it

19" dont look quite as nice as the 18" but i guess they arent in white so maybe this is why

Just wonder if you can get the 6 pots 362mm courtenay upgradde brakes under the 18" i struggled with the 18" on the p1 with massive 355mm disc setup

Why not just go for the VXR AP 4 Pots

http://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/tuning/Astra_VXR_Tuning.shtml#Brakes

Developed in conjunction with Vauxhall themselves the AP kit represents the ultimate in braking upgrades for the VXR Astra. Available in both red and blue this four pot caliper kit comprises of a pair of separate aluminium bells, grooved 343mm disks and complete with AP racing 5.1 fluid and braided hoses. Comes in red or blue.

Pics half way down the page of that Link

Just noticed there on your link as well... doh

Are you REALLY going to need that extra braking ability bearing in mind the standard brakes held up to 8min 35sec full lap of the Ring.

Or is it just a case of the 6-pots looking the Mutts Nuts

The building of the Nirburgs have been delayaed at the factory...One that I know on order was scheduled for a build slot on Jan 29th...now looking to mid April.

When its built, its then shipped of to VXR performance centre to have the exhaust fitted, further delaying delivery...and rumour has it - they dont have enough exhausts yet.

The first Nurburgring Editions are at VXRPC as we speak and will be arriving at dealers next week.
