How long does it roughly take to get a mortgage from scratch upto actually buying a property?

It depends on a lot of things, if you are fairly settled in your job for a while now and earning a fair amount then one can be set up fairly easily.

If you have things like short time in the job, self employed, bad credit history, etc. then it can take longer.

Just go tell them you want it. The most that will happen is that you'll mess the seller around a bit which is actually good for you.

you can put an offer in pending to mortgage. Well up here you can. Your not tied in untill you sign. Again up here. Not sure how your system works although it seems much better than ours.

Even if it was, unless the structure is damaged you can replace everything cosmetic in a whole house for 10k easy, thats why everybody and their dog does it.

Even better if its a shed inside, your going to want to change most things anyway. Get it cheaper & do the whole place at once!!

i managed to see a house and get mortgage sorted in 3 weeks can be done quickly if you want.

If it is dirt cheap compared to the area alarm bells should be going off. Get it surveyed before you even think about buying it at an auction or could cost you alot of money!!
