the only reason you need to lower it as it foul's the manifold, then the use of spacer block's to lower it...

if you lower the tie-bar, then the arb will be lower with it, as it attached to it

hope that explains it

p.s lowered corsa's handle better without the front arb imo

That makes sense bud. I am used to Cav and Astra where the ARB and tie aren't connected. I'll be fitting coilovers so you reckon dont bother with the ARB?

Everytime I think its about ready to finish I find something else buggered thats costly - this time the turbo @ £1100.

Still, it lasted 5 weeks last time which is the most reliable one I have owned to date, my first one lasted an hour and a half and my second I buggered up in 26 miles.

I didn't bother with it when I had the XE in (hence the spare ARB lowering blocks) and I thought it handled better.

well if your lowering the tiebar's as it will help withhandling slightly anyway

you can fit it, and take it off, and see which setup you like

Wayne it isn't just you and 5's, It's cars in general. I wonder if you'll remember how to drive when you get a car running again

I think I'll try it without Ste then fit it at a later date if I'm not happy with the handling. What about front strut brace, Can you fit them with the XE are they worth fitting?

would probably cost load's to get one made up though

How much are the Nova ones?
Maybe you could get a Corsa group buy going, I'd fancy one if the price was right.

£120 iirc - tis a bit dear

but are only made for nova's, and corsa's are wider

think some one asked about a corsa one on the nova group buy, and they said they wont make one

Once the engine is in I'll keep an eye out for a cheap Astra brace and see it in can be modified. I know a guy who could weld it up for me once sorted.

I've thought of something else

I know there are 3 ways of doing the driveshafts. I know about the cav inner CV joints but if I want to keep the 2.0 shafts I've heard one might be too long. Is it the short shaft that might be too long and is that if the gearbox is spaced?

If I don't fit the front ARB will these blocks be ok to lower the tie bar?
