To cut a long story short, my mate has snapped the ignition key in the door of his '90 Audi 80.
Any advice on how to A. De-activate the steering lock and, B. Turn ignition on.
This is a genuine plea for help lol.
Im not a thief!
P.s. The cars wrong hand drive as i live in Rome, Italy.
Thanks

Without basically destroying the ignition barrel, the only option is the spare key.

Yeah im gonna get some long nose pliers and try get the rest of the snapped key out, then put that in the ignition, then turn it with a screwdriver or similar.
Failing that....Steering wheel off, cowells off, indicator/light stalks off, and have a general look see.....

Smash that little window on the rear door. Then cut a few wires.

What is smashing the window going to do? Make you feel better about hurting the car
He's only snapped it in the ignition, it's not locked

I'd break the lock on the door tbh as it sounds like a new one is needed.
It's just and old piece of shit so the locks are not going to be of the best.
Try and get the key out with some computer pliers and then stick it back together or some other dodgy method Might be able to get a new one cut cheaply.
